Evangelicals have long blamed America (the liberals) for the 9/11 attacks. Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson both were adamant in their belief that 9/11 was retribution for America's sins. Not much difference from Obama's former preacher, Jaramiah Wright. As a rule preachers and politicians talk about the same topics but from much different perspectives. Just one of the reasons the founding fathers decided to keep them separate. When tragedy strikes us, whether it's on a global or personal level, we all cry out "Why me Lord? Why have you abandoned me?" In our time of national mourning, our preachers tried to answer. None of them did a very good job. Jesus taught us to respond to unfair attacks by returning good for evil. It never was an easy cross to bear. He also mumbled something about ...without sin casting the first stone ...or something.
